• Visit a local market to purchase ingredients and intermingle with the locals
• See demonstrations of how to cook and prepare traditional Vietnamese cuisine
• Sample the fruits of your labor and share food with your cooking classmates

ITINERARY:

– Morning tour: at 8:20AM and return to Old Town about 2:00PM

 – Afternoon tour: at 13:20PM and return to Old Town about 6:00PM

We offer you something completely unique. After picking you up at your hotel in Hoi An, we will begin our adventure in the Ancient Quarter. First, a stroll through the Central market to purchase all fresh ingredients for the class. Then, we board our river basket boat for a relaxing 30-minute ride on the Thu Bon river to Bay Mau Coconut Forest, which is recognized by the Province as an official ecological zone.

We then walk through the vegetable fields to our teaching kitchen overlooking the water coconut trees and rows of vegetables. After that, you have a chance to meet local residents. You will be able to not only go on basket boats but also fish around the beautiful palm forest. Finally, we will show you 4 traditional Vietnamese dishes while you enjoy the cool breeze and the peaceful setting of the countryside.

Now it’s time to COOK!!

Banh Xeo

Crispy Vietnamese Crepes filled with pork and shrimp, bean sprouts and green onion. Served with lettuce leaves, fresh herbs and nuoc cham

Mi Xao Hai San

Fried Noodles with seafood. Ingredients: Mustard green, prawn, squid or beef

Pho Bo Hanoi

Beef rice noodle soup infused with beef bones, cinnamon, ginger and star anise.

Goi Cuon

Fresh Rice Paper Salad Rolls with Pork and Shrimp with a Tangy Peanut Hoisin Dipping Sauce.

Each dish is demonstrated first, then it’s YOUR turn to replicate at your individual cooking station and make your own delicious Vietnamese appetizer. Then on to the next appetizer or main.

Vegetarian Options Available upon request. A Fresh Fruit Platter will be served for Dessert. Recipes will be provided at the end of class for you to take home.
